Student Testimonials

I've been enamoured with Lynsay's work for ages and was thrilled that she offers classes! She's a wonderful teacher; the classes were well presented and organized. I learned so much about layers and details and technique...and added a few new to me colors to my palette. After completing the course, I'm an even bigger fan of Lynsay than I already was...and have two beautiful paintings to show for it! ( And I could listen to her lovely accent all day.) 💛

Bridget

Painting with acrylics has always made me nervous but I was in expert hands with Lynsay and learnt about colour, paint consistency, layering and brushes. I was over the moon with my paintings! Lynsay's calm and encouraging tuition made all the difference and I've been able to start a new chapter in my artwork.

Caroline Baggaley

Hi I'm Jane from Australia. I fell in love with Lynsays art the minute I saw it! Her colours are just beautiful so happy and joyful and her style is captivating.

Lynsay makes it easy to follow her process and I learnt so much. She explains everything thoroughly and goes at a pace that was easy for me to keep up with. When I finished I stood back and couldn't believe that I had painted such beautiful pieces of art!

I've done both of Lynsays courses and I can't wait for her to do another one.
Thank you Lynsay for sharing your wonderful gift I am forever grateful.

Sealing and Varnishing

Let me take you through how I complete and protect my paintings.

I use Spectra Fix 'Degas Fixative' its perfect for fixing and sealing soft pastel, chalk, coloured pencil etc... you can use this during the painting process as it can then be layered, although I usually use it to seal my painting at the end as I add most water soluble details towards the end of my painting process.

To varnish and protect my paintings, I use Winsor & Newton professional gloss or satin spray varnish, I wear a suitable aerosol mask, I try to spray outdoors or in a well ventilated room, giving my paintings 2-3 light coats, letting each coat dry thoroughly in between.

Course Supply List

I've attached the course supply list below for you, it is really not necessary to have everything on the list, it depends on how closely you want to follow along with my process.

A few substitute tips...
  • the catalyst tools can be substituted for an old bank card and a wooden skewer would work for creating patterns/linework.
  • Instead of the water based acrylic spray paint used for stencilling you can substitute for acrylic paint in teal and white and use a paintbrush to apply.
  • Instead of the stencils, you could paint your own designs in contrasting colours.
  • I encourage you to substitute colours for similar colours you may have, or use your own colour palette.
  • You could choose to paint on paper (or wooden panel) instead of canvas, I've completed the course on paper and canvas and was delighted with both finishes.

Your Instructor

Lynsay Green

I'm an artist from N.Ireland. I paint daily using exciting colour combinations, creating bold, colour-rich florals, all from my garden studio, surrounded by nature.

I love vibrant colour and flowers and over the years I've developed a painting style that is a bright, lively story of layers with a balanced combination of loose brushstrokes and fine line details.

Painting has a special place in my heart, it lights me up (I mean...it literally puts a smile on my face!) and I can't wait to share my process and this joy with you!
